And three weeks later, I return…

by Amanda on January 25, 2012

I know, I know. These past three weeks have been beyond crazy. Between classes starting, moving, working on my clinic case, and putting together a social skills support group for a “local” (read, an hour away) school, I’ve pulled entirely too many 14 hour days. Which means that blogging has taken a backseat to everything else, but not for long!

And to get back into the swing of things, I’ve decided to play along with a post I was tagged in. I’ve had a couple of people tag me (thanks ladies!) and I’m going to respond to Kayleigh’s post.

the rules:
1. you must post the rules
2. post eleven facts about yourself on the blog post
3. answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post,
and then create eleven new questions to as the people you’ve tagged
4. tag eleven people and link them on your post
5. let them know you’ve tagged them
 first up: the facts!
1. I am growing stronger in my faith. While I am still having a hard time understanding it all, I’m also spending more time with God and my Bible and discovering more about my beliefs and God.
2. I can’t stand writing in pencil. I have a statistics course this semester and will have to write in pencil. Needless to say, I’m irritated.
3. I am loving the fact that it is January and I went outside today in shorts and flip flops. I could get used to 75 degree weather in Mississippi!
4. I’m terrified of cows. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I have no problem with that.
5. I’m slowly working on incorporating more business professional clothes in my wardrobe. Thank you clinic cases three times a week!
6. After this past weekend, I will never do another Rumple Minze shot again.
7. My friend Alexis is moving in with me this weekend, and I’m just a little bit nervous about how our cats will get along.
8. I love wearing my hair curly. It makes life so much easier.
9. I finally having living room furniture! You should be expecting a blog post about it next week, as it was on my 101 list.
10. I have to color code my text books this semester with my classes. For four classes, I had to buy 15 text books. Looks like I will be busy!
11. I’m presenting at a state conference on Autism next week. I’m incredibly honored to be able to present, but so nervous!
 next: the answers
1. Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog really as a creative outlet. I have a hard time writing things down to remember what is going on, so I will be excited to go back years from now and read about my life!
2.What do you do at the end of a long day?
Lately I will come home, have a mug of tea and try to pack my bags for the next day. Lately I’ve been packing three different bags (my school bag, my clinic bag, and my gym bag) every night to try and keep me slightly more organized!
3. Which season is your favorite and why?
Maybe it is because I was watching The OC when I read this question, but I honestly thought it was talking about a television show at first. And then I realized what was going on, haha. In Mississippi, I have to say winter is my favorite season! We have had temperatures ranging from 30 to 75! When I was living up north, fall would definitely be considered my favorite.
4. What fictional charactor would you want as a best friend?
This is a hard one. My very initial reaction was Hermione Granger. She is (let’s be honest here) a fierce character and is able to keep Harry and Ron in line. Love everything about her!
5. Desert Island. Three Items. List them.
My kindle (assuming I have a way to plug it in when I need to charge it), a blanket, and a phone. I would get entirely too lonely by myself!
6. If you could choose to live in a different decade purely for fashion’s sake, which decade would you choose?
Is it bad that I just want to say now? I don’t really have any fashion ideals, and have no idea which one I would choose!
7. What song makes you crank the volume in your car?
Lately it has been “Someone Like You” by Adele. I can’t help but sing at the top of my lungs, every time I hear it.
8. What is most important to you?
I have a really hard time deciding what is most important to me. Really there is so much, God, school, friends, family, everything. I can’t choose!
9. If you could choose to have one dream for your life come true, which would it be?
Would being happy count? I want to find my Mr. Right, have the perfect job for me, and have a loving and supportive family.
10. Which collection of your’s is bigger, movies or books?
If we count physical books, then it would be movies. If I’m allowed to include the books I have on my Kindle, it would be books.
11. If you could have dinner with someone alive or dead, who would that be?
Kayleigh, you pick hard questions! Right now, I am missing my friends from home, so I would  love to catch up with my friend Melanie over dinner.
third: my questions
1. If you could travel to any country, where would it be?
2. Cats or dogs?
3. You best blogging experience.
4. What is your tv guilty pleasure?
5. Tell me about your first apartment
6. What is your favorite restaurant to go to?
7. What was the best date you’ve gone on?
8.What was the last book you couldn’t put down?
9. Tea or Coffee? Flavors?
10. Are you “crafty”?
11. Have you ever made anything you found on Pinterest?
last: my tags (sorry if you’ve been tagged before!)

2. Amanda at Teasingly Diverse
4. Amber at Amber’s Life
6. Elena at Pink Zin
7. Ashley at Ashley Running

Hello Siri

December 28, 2011

For the past three years I have had an iPhone 3G. I started with it and I loved it. Even when it stopped vibrating and started sounding like a beetle was buzzing, I cherished it. I was the first one in my family to get an iPhone and I was proud of it. However, after [...]
