Tuesday and Thursday nights are horrible nights for me. My stats class and lab meet on those nights, from 6-9 pm. Not only is this class the easiest class I have ever taken,v but the people in my class ask stupid questions. Now I know, “there’s no such thing as a dumb question,” but until you spend six hours a week with these individuals, don’t judge me.
Needless to say, by the time class is over, I’m ready to go home. By that point, I’ve typically been gone from my house for over 14 hours, and my bed is calling my name. Last night was no different.
I climbed into my car, ready to go home. I was so ready, in fact, that I might possibly could have been speeding. Now I know, it is hard to believe that I would speed, but like I told you….all I wanted was my bed!
When I saw the flashing lights behind me, I knew I was in trouble.
I pulled over, and didn’t even pull the “is everything alright?” act. I knew he caught me going faster than I should have been going. He asked me for my drivers license and my student ID (since I hadn’t even managed to make it off of campus by this point) and he asked me why I was going so fast. And I said the first thing that came to my mind…..
“I just really have to go to the bathroom!”
The police officer kind of chuckled under his breath and told me not to worry about my ID , just to give him my drivers license. He had to scan it to make sure I don’t have any warrants out (dontchaknow I’m a wanted criminal!) and came back. I held my breath, knowing that I could get a pretty hefty fine for speeding, and this is what he said to me:
Ms. B, I know that you have to go to the bathroom, but I please ask you to slow down. The law is the law. Now go home and go to the bathroom.
I don’t think I have ever been so relieved. I didn’t have to go to the bathroom, but once I got nervous, I knew that would be my first stop when I got home.
Have you ever been pulled over for speeding? Did you get a ticket, or we’re you lucky like I was, and scraped by by the edge of my toes?

Oh wow! Way to go
I have gotten pulled over one time and learned my lesson promptly! My ticket was 400, and while I am sure I might have been going over the speed limit, I do not believe it was as fast as the officer said.
Annnnd he got smart and pointed at my school sticker on my window and said I was smart ebought to know that the beach would be there still if I got there later. Psh!
Girl, you crack me up
I’ve gotten one speeding ticket, and I really deserved it. In fact, I was lucky that it took his radar as long to lock on as it did, because I’d started slowing down so I was in a lower fine bracket :/ I was on my way to a friend’s baptism in another state which had been moved up an hour without telling me, and I was trying to get her BF there on time. Danger of not having cruise control + a lead foot, ha!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been pulled over but I have always been fortunate to get a warning…with or without using my charms haha
so cool that you got away with that…seriously, good for you!
